I'm 59, and ride 15-20 days a year. Every time I pick up a magazine for snowboarding it's about getting 50' in the air and riding rails off of school buildings in downtown Detroit. Kinda like the fashion ads that show clothes nobody really wear, and the car magazines that have articles on exotics nobody is really driving. I skied (37 years) until about five years ago, and ski magazines cater to "normals" as well as "X" types. Is there anything like that out there for boarders?

Best bet is to stick with the interwebz for that in-between.
This site, and sites like angrysnowboarder might be more of what you're looking for? Or check around online for others that might suit you. Magazines anymore are mostly glossy-paged vehicles for ads. Not a whole lot of content, comparatively. Too many ads already on tv, the web, etc that you can't really get away from. I don't like having to pay (directly) for something full of ads, like a magazine. |
