I've got about 70 gig worth of video from last season and about to head back out for another season with my new Hero3 Blacks
Can anyone recommend some good Video Editing Software? I'm looking for reasonably easy to use + slowmotion, fading in/out, overlay, music, light/colour editing etc. Has anyone used different products and can recommend their favourite in any price range? A lot of the softwares above are VERY expensive, unless you illegally download them. A simple to use, rather cheap software that I like is Sony Movie Studio Platinum 12 (Or just Sony Movie Studio 12 or 11).
Hope this helps! |

Depend on if you have a PC or Mac, but here's what I'd recommend.
Entry level: Mac - iMovie comes free and works just fine. PC - CyberLink PowerDirector or Sony Movie Studio Higher end: Mac - Final Cut Pro X PC - Sony Vegas Pro If you want to do voice recording with the footage as well, here are some mics I'd recommend: Entry - Blue Snowball Mid - Blue Yeti High - Rode Podcaster

Here is a good site to read up on the different software pieces. Video Editing Software Review 2013 | Best Video Editor Software | Video Editing - TopTenREVIEWS Sometimes costco or sams club or other warehouse clubs have software deals either in store or online. Usually you get an upgraded version for the price of the lesser or, just a cheaper cost for the standard edition. |

Thanks for the Input guys.
I looked online and saw that my local PCWorld was selling Power Director 11 Ultimate for £20 off... so for £79 figure I'm sorted. Thought that going entry level'ish was best as a start. I also made the mistake of buying a JVC Everio HD camera back in 2006 and have Never been able to find a free video editor that converts .TOD files to a workable format. The Power Director says it does... so an added bonus for me. I had tried the GoPro free software, but wanted to add music, fade-in/fade-out of shots, add slow motion segment effects. correct camera shake on the Everio footage etc I leave in 7 days and then will be holed up in Val Thorens until May... so have plenty of time to play around with it.
