whole board not waxed????

So, being new to snowboarding, I took my MLY into Exit Real World and had them hot wax it. I got the board back with the front and back tips dry. The guy doing it told me that since the ends aren't contact points, they don't get waxed. Not knowing better I left but since have this suspicious thought he was just getting one over on me.... thoughts?

you will suffer zero effect of the very tip and tail being dry.

Tips are irrelevant. I wax my own boards and I don't go right to the ends.

I wax my own boards and only wax the tip/tail once at the beginning. Even that is only to clean them.

I do the opposite, I apply wax to the tips and tails but don't usually bother scraping them

I don't know if this is troll or?
Why leave it on? all gloppy? Added weight. Much rather leave it dry.

I'm one of those who gave up waxing. I have well over 30 days since my last wax (I'm sure BA has gone much longer). I haven't really missed it other than one brief moment when I first got to the hill. It was packed powder and my board felt very sticky when skating in the lift line. Interestingly, very quickly into my first run it seemed to get faster and ceased to be sticky after that.

With regards to the OP, back when I waxed my board I would usually hit the tip and tail with a little wax, but I wouldn't work too hard at it, or scrape it too thoroughly.
