snowboard waxing iron

Picked up this Black and Decker $12 iron at Target the other day. (Buy the Black and Decker Steam Iron | F210)

Will this thing be OK to use to wax my board? Should I cover it with tin foil or something similar or just use it as-is?

I've always used a snowboard-specific waxing iron but the one I've always had got lost somewhere between last winter and now...

Thanks for the help.

Use it as-is

ilikecoupons 01-09-2013 02:03 PM

i would use the heat and rub technique with the wax just to be safe

Just use it as is. I've been using a Value Village $6 special for years.

I use a wall mart 9$ regular iron.

I use a $10 walmart iron as well. Run it.

I have a specially made for snowboarding iron.

You're all amateurs and doing it wrong

BTW, anyone know if I can use my iron for my clothes as well?
