Default Preferred Stance?

Hey there,

Just wondering how everyone preferes there stance and why?

eg. I been having 15 degrees at the front and 0 at the back. I only a newbie and thats what i heard people have thats why i have it like that.

I was thinking maybe having 15 at the front and 15 the other way at the back. I thought it might make jumping easier.

Cheers

There a few threads with this topic going around. That said I am using 14/-14 at this time, I find it to be very effective for allmountain riding and specially for jumps, switch, glades and rails. But in last days of the season my knee was killing me, I was thinking that maybe that stance is too extreme, next season I am going to start with 12/-12 to go easier on my knees.

P.S. When I started riding I was doing a forward stance, I think it was 19/7. It worked fine but later on I adjusted the to duck stance and stayed with it.

cheers guys.

do u prefer Wider stance? cuz i think i made my stance as close together as i could, considering making it wider, so i dont have so much gap at front of board for nose presses.

I have +15/-15. It's lots of fun. If your going to change your back foot, do it a little at time. It will feel super kooky if you just jump from 0 to -15.

As for width, I can't remember what mine is. It's wider than "suggested" stance, but not maxed out. I feel a little unstable with my stance maxed out. Just try changing it a little bit at time when your out someday. You'll be surpised at how much you'll notice even slight changes your stance width.

That's how I roll awesome. Really helps with the whole balancing on rail thing =P

Don't EVER max your stance out to look steezy or whatnot. It can be bad on your knees, and you should do a little at a time. If it ever gets uncomfortable, then stop widening it. Do what feels right for you, not the kid riding next to you.
