Now that I have two boards, I've noticed that when I'm riding the Garage Rocker I seem to feel a bit more balanced & stable on it compared to my Arbor. At first this seemed to me to be contrary to the way I thought it would/should feel!
I learned to ride the 163 cm Wide Arbor Roundhouse, with a stance width of about 21.5". I used the same stance width when I set up the 159 cm Rome! Same binding angles on both, ducked @ +18/-12. The Rome is shorter, A lot lighter, way more flexible, and it isn't a wide board. (...I wear a 10.5 thirty two boot.) I would have thought this would feel "Less" stable. (...I did have to get used to how quickly it goes from heel to toe compared to the Arbor, but it didn't really throw me off too bad. Just had to be careful I didn't over steer!) I also have less forward lean dialed in to the Cartel's on the Rome! I think I left them @ zero or only slightly forward. I have quite a bit of lean set on the Arbor's Cartels. My question is, with the same 21.5" stance width on a shorter more flexible board would that be equivalent to having a relatively wider stance riding on a longer stiffer board? I'm wondering if maybe I should widen my stance on the Arbor by an inch or so,.. see if that makes riding this board feel more stable & balanced as well? (...most of my first season, I was only @ 19" for my stance width!) Any thoughts? Am I on the right track with my thinking here? (...Oh yes, BTW, I'm 6'- 230+ geared up! I just fall in the weight range for this length on the Garage Rocker!)

Im 6' 215ish and i ride at either 22.5" or 23" (cant remember even though i just measured the other day after resetting up my boards) i would say try going a little wider and see how it feels |
