Unhappy 3 Missing WA snowboarders found.

I know there has been some interest by members of this site in finding them. A group of their friends just found their tent along with their bodies. Evidently the camped in a spot that an avalanche ran through. Given the conditions they were out in, they probably didn't even know they were in danger. Hopefully this will give some closer to their friends and family RIP guys.

The Seattle times article.

Quote:
The bodies of three Seattle-area snowboarders who went missing near Crystal Mountain in December were found Saturday by friends who saw their tent peeking through the snow.
There is also a thread at Turns all year that shows how this unfolded. Hat's off to this crew.

Their is one last person who was taken in the backcountry this season that I know of. A young women was killed in the Sangres by an avalance after they hiked a 14er. As far as I know they still have found her body yet. I believe once they find her that will be it for this year.

A big thanks to ale for posting this up on TOS.

Wow. That thread on TAY was quite... moving in one way, and very scary in another.

We're all one big family, and in times like these, it really shows

Hey I didn't post that they found her. Thanks daysailer for the link. Keep in mind she had passed away a long time ago, but they hadn't recovered her body. Just like the WA snowboarders. This was just the last step to get their respective friends and families some closure. May she rest in peace.
