I was asked to post plans for boxes/rails/and dropins, so I'll do that within the next month( sorry, I'm lazy, and I've yet to write them up). Soapy water works well on outdoor carpeting for dropins. Ice rink snow works great for the kicker onto the box, and the drop in before it. We always just wet the grass at the end of the box for the landing. It's hard to get used to, but it works.

My buddy and I ride urban/street all summer on our boards in Victoria, BC. We have a few rails and an oil drum barrel. We usually grab our trucks go to the local ice rink (sometimes 2) and fill em with snow and then find a good spot. We have recently invested in a small generator and some lights for some epic night sesh's!!!
