Curious, what type of operation are you looking at? Some are quicker than other. I guess at this point you'll want to know if you can deal with for the season and then get it fixed in say May. Good luck with that one.

Thats the issue, noone really knows whats going on inside! The physio thinks maybe a cruciate issue but no-ones really sure. The knee feels like it bounces forward and down when I step, only hurts every now and again but it feels if I went skating or riding it might just explode on itself!
The problem is I obviously dont wanna turn down a visa and find out that I will be ready for the season, but I cant say yes I'll have the visa and then be out for the first half of the season. Its just not knowing what the hells going on that bugs me as you can imagine.
The worst thing is that all that happened is I went shins down on the corner of a box in february, took the week off of teaching but didnt go to hospital in canada because I couldn't afford to. Now they think I broke my shin under the knee (which explains the lump sticking out the front) and dont who knows what to the knee. But when your halfway through the season for some reason not getting medical treatment and riding through the pain seems like a good idea at the time.

Well hopefully it gets worked out for you. By your description, I think it's something that will probably need to get taken care of sooner than later. That "exploding" feeling is just not a good sign. You might want to just start saving some money and plan on spending next summer in Argentina or Chile.

I hear you snowjoe, but be carefull what you wish for; so many in America have no insurance and can`t afford the thousands if not tens of thousands for the proceddure you describe. As for snow boarding, well, I just went today.... As kill says, except for about 2 weeks in September I can ride at Timberline any time all summer......BUT.....nothing beats the frsh pow which I do long for about this time of year so yeah, I am counting the days in a way too.

DAMN Snow, I wish I could ride right now, you're truly lucky. I bet the snow well the corn is holding pretty good by now. I been keeping myself busy wakeboarding, my new board was supposed to come in today, but the damn weather delayed it til Monday. My is starting to bother me a little so I am going to try to learn switch to relieve stress from my back foot. Getting much better, I about to clear the table top, that thing is fucking long.
Well have fun riding.

I have been by far the most medically expensive child i know. Age of 5 months, diagnosed with craniosynestosis, $400k surgery. Then flipped off my bike onto my forehead, 8 stitches, two surgeries on my finger, one on my forehead, one on my ear that hurts like hell!(just got it two days ago) one on my knee, multiple doctor visits for broken bones and tendinitis. I'm probably getting close to the half a million mark

^^ bummer I feel like I am also very accident prone. What is craniosynestosis? I only ask because I don't know. I have been reading a lot because of summer assignments. I have to bust my ass to get into a good college. And I am going to take a year off before and work at mammoth or tahoe for a season. That is my countdown. But in actuality the first day of the season most likely is in about 130 days.

craniosynestosis is the premature closing of the soft spots in a childs head. It pretty much made my skull small and contricted my brain. And DAMN....Soo much snow
