When they demoed the airbag at my local mountain (Crystal), It was at the base area and you just hiked to the predetermined drop-in point. They also said no straight backflips, but this one kid tried to speed check heelside at the lip, slipped out and slammed the back of his head into the lip two times in a row. He wasnt allowed to hit the airbag anymore lol.

Had that moment today. Got some nice air off a lip at the top of a trail that I've been taking all day at a decent speed and there was a kid just standing there at the landing, clipped his skis and I thought I was done. Last thing I remembered was covering my head (thank GOD I wear a helmet) with my arms. My buddy was behind me and said I flipped over my head twice. Luckily I just bruised the crap out of my forearms and neck is pretty sore, but okay otherwise.

lol. This isn't a snowboarding incident, but a while ago, I decided to take our 4 - wheeler over some jumps. It was a work 4 - wheeler, not exactly used for jumps, and REALLY front heavy. I got to where I was getting 4-5 feet of vertical air off of it. I decided to go a bit faster, I went about 6 or so feet in the air, and came down right on my front 2. The handlebars bent forward, throwing me over the front, and I landed right in front of the 4 wheeler, and the 400 lb thing ran right over my shoulder and legs, and it drug me along with it until it stopped and i found myself between the front and back wheels. I escaped without much more than a torn up jacket and some scratches.
Thank GOD for helmets. |

Most of mine have come in my Jeep. When you've got a tire 3' off the ground on a narrow shelf trail full of Volkswagen size boulders on the edge of a 1000' cliff, it can be a little bit sphincter tightening. Plenty of times I've made passengers get out so if something goes wrong, it's only my dumb ass paying the price.
