Had one of those tonight. The US Airbag tour came here. After watching about 6 people go and all of them strait lining it I figured I should do the same. After going off the 14ft tall ramp, it was about a 1/4 of the way over the 50ft bag that I had that thought. Ended up landing about 1 board length short of the end. I forgot to take into account a few things. At 185lbs I'm a good bit larger then most boarders, I know how to ride an edge to go fast, and I maintain my board to be fast.
The rest of the night I had tons of fun hitting the bag. Started getting spin technique dialed in and did some hucker flippy spinny things. If it comes to your area make plans to try it.

Had another little moment tonight on the airbag. On the approach to the ramp I was setting up for a backside spin. As I switched to my toe edge right before the jump I started skidding on some ice. Until I was able to get my edge back it seemed like I was about to fly off the side of the ramp half way up and go to the side of the bag. GPS on my contour says I was doing about 30mph at that point.

Definitely had a few of these happen.
Mistakes off jumps are the worst feeling, especially if it's a big jump with lots of airtime to contemplate your impending doom.

Top of a 2 mile hill above Jalama Beach after surfin, we decide its a good idea to skate down this mofo. Everyone else has shoes on, so they ditch after like 50 feet and run off. I'm barefoot in boxers and an army jacket. Board is 1/4" fiberglass flexdeck 70's style with the trucks at the tips.
For the simple fact that I could not afford to bail, I just stayed on and started to do big giant carves, tightening them to bleed speed. Took my friends like 30 minutes to find me at the bottom cuz they were sure I was mangled over the edge somewhere. ![]() At one point a car caught up behind me and it was hard to decide if they were gonna chill and it was tough to communicate...I went straight for a sec and waved them by..that was a pretty hairy moment...

We had the US Airbag tour here a few weeks ago. Was a ton of fun but saw a couple kids damn near overshoot it. Was a 15 foot lip here as well. I'm curious was it the same for you, 25 bucks for 10 jumps, or 45 bucks unlimited for the weekend?

It was $45 for 25 jumps but I think I only got about 20 jumps in the two days I went. Because our hill is retarded that put the bag in a bad area. A super long run up took more time. Then we had to use the main crowded lifts. It was over 15 minutes between jumps.
