Just an update for anyone in Canada wanting to order from Allsportprotection...

I ordered the women's protective armour from them. Checked Fedex Ground for shipment. When I got the shipping confirmation, it was marked for shipment by USPS. I contacted them to find out why and they told me that they always ship USPS to Canada because Fedex charges brokerage fees as well (not as much as UPS, but still...). So +1 right there.

Shipment arrived today, no problems. So I'm good with ordering from them again any time.

Mighty considerate of them!

If you don't get it shipped to a receiver and pick it up on the other side, there's other ways to get around the absurd amounts they'll ding ya, but they all take a bit more work on your part to make 'em happen. Apparently you can brokerage the package yourself by getting the documents from FedEx/UPS and then going down to the border and taking care of all the papers and paying the tax there, then taking the paperwork back to the depot they have your package at and then you're all free!

Personally I'd rather just wait if I didn't need it right away, or pay a little extra to get the damn thing already. My little free time and energy isn't worth it to save a few measly bucks. I like to just plan big purchases from down south around weekend trips and then pass it off like I had it all along... *shifty eyes*

Why didn't you just order directly from Demon? I've ordered to Canada from demonsnow.com and had a great experience. When it turned out that they didn't actually have the D3O shorts I ordered in my size, they gave me the D3O pants for the same price.

I've ordered other things from AllSportProtection, and I'd be wary of doing so again. I got my order just fine, but there was a $150 D3O vest that someone else ordered included in the package. They even gave me his receipt too. I got in touch with the guy and tried to tell ASP what happened, but they wouldn't even respond to me.

From what I've been reading on the internets, allsport is a bit hit-and-miss, but they're on the good side for the most part. For example, their site will show everything as in stock, so you may end up ordering stuff they don't currently have and waiting forever to get it. I got around this by picking out stuff I wanted and then chatting with customer support to make sure they have it in stock. Well, one of the things they didn't but I ordered the rest of it, which they said they did have. Sure enough, the stuff shipped within HOURS of my having placed the order, by FedEx ground and for free (shipping)! Very happy with this experience, will probably buy from them again when my bum needs armor. Just make sure they have what you want first and you should be golden.

Has anybody here bought demon pants? (Not shorts) I have a sizing question... The medium upper fits me just right, but I think my girthious belly would fit a large pants better. I wear size 34 jeans once I've broken them in a bit, but they're tight at first...

From what I can see and what I've heard, the Demon stuff fits small. Actually, I think all snowboard stuff fits small. So I'd err on the side of larger if I was buying something.

BTW, wife's comment on the Demon upper: "Fucking AWESOME!!!"

That's good to hear! I don't even feel like it's on me anymore when I board, it's just there when I need it...

I think I'm going to take the plunge and get the Large pants and see if they fit. Hopefully I don't need extra large!
