That's what they say for football players too. Most of the time it's true, but some guys continue to have complications and some just never really get over it. ACL recovery prognosis has really improved in the last 20 years, but it still seems to be a fickle, unpredictable injury when trying to gauge recovery time and ultimate recovery prognosis
The Carolina Panthers have two guys currently on the roster still struggling to return from ACLs that were torn two years ago, then you have a guy like Adrian Peterson who completely destroys his knee and he's back better than ever 8 months later. Just doesn't make sense.
My wife had a tibial plateau fracture last year but luckily avoided any ligament damage. Sucks too because it was only her third day ever on a board and now, after the injury, she is scared to get hurt.
Best wishes to Lindsey Vonn though, hope her recovery goes as well as it can.
She is an Uber athlete. So if anyone can recover in time for the Olympics it's her. Still, it is going to be a tall order, and it'll be very tough for her to be peaking at that time. Which is a super bummer.
