Hitting skier in landing spot

So I was hitting some lunch table feature at the park and a bunch of kids were standing in the landing spot. I didn't see them until I already hit the feature. So I went down in the sitting position and put my board forward and nailed one of the kids who was on skis. I was afraid the kid I hit was gonna hate on me for hitting me, but he knew he wasn't supposed to be standing there so he didn't say much except that he's glad that none of us were hurt and he jumped over me. I didn't hate on him either and asked if he was okay, even though I should have called him out for standing in the landing area. It's like we both knew expected to have a collision and we were both ready for it so no one had to get seriously hurt.

But because he was cool about it, everything was good and we didn't fight. Some other skier got mad at me I think for possibly spraying snow in his face because I was hauling down a steep slope. I didn't do it on purpose, but maybe when you go fast snow tends to be sprayed further. I guess he got offended enough to try catching up to me and proceeded to yell at me. I ignored him because I had headphones on and I didn't want to waste my riding time arguing with someone. This was an older man on skis and he's probably one of those old guys that hate snowboarders.

Anyone experience colliding with other people and both parties being cool and not fighting?

Way, way back when I was a skier I hit a jump casing the knuckle and my skis fell off. Then the next thing I saw was some boarder doing an air right over me! I guess the guy thought I rode away but he didnt actually hit me so it was all good for both of us.

I used to dodge people stopped on knuckles, or on the undersides of rolls all the time. Now I just always assume someone's gunna jump out in front of me so I'm always ready to go evade mode. I don't do a ton if park so when I do need to put myself down to avoid a crash it ends a bit better.

However, today I was on the park and a family was watching their 8 year old kid hit jumps and were making big ole turns and stopping on the knuckle to the side. Fine. They were out if the way, in view just trying to get a good angle. So I'm drop in to hit it and the daughter if the family crosses in front of me just before the set up and turns around the jump and stops right smack dab in the middle of the knuckle, prime real estate to get your head taken out and I'm coming at her. She turns around realizes I'm still gunna hit it, and as I do I may have said get outa the way :/

And she looked at me like i was daft.... >.<

But likewise, I was coming off a side kicker on a black, three a quick 1 landed and some boarder who definitely shouldn't have been on that trail, put his nose ride threw my feet, throwing us both down. We both sat up and checked we were good, chaulked it up to lack of communication on both ends and called it a day.

Moral of the story. There's tons if people on a mountain. They're bound to get in each others way. Be aware and conscious of your surrounding and there should never be any "fault". Just keep your eyes open and don't be a full in ass hat

Had to help a kid skier the other day as people tend to ride through the park on their way out at the end of the day. So it was busier than usual, the kid fell, double ejected and one ski was out of reach.
We were all worried that someone would land on the ski and hurt themselves but more worried that the boy was going to run out to try and retrieve the ski.

He looked down at us not knowing what to do. We told him to move to the side and ran up to stop any more people from going while the kid grabbed his ski.
Should people be taught when learning what to do if their goggles etc come off and they are by themselves....yes. But it seems a situation that happens too often.

I ride: NS Pandora 149 + Salomon Absolute premium Bindings
Stepchild PMS 149/ Smokin Fawesym 149 + Nitro Eris Bindings +15 -12

K2 Contour 5.

I was recently waiting on top of the snowboard park to hit a box when an out of control guy fell and hit me beind my knee with his nose.

I turned my head around expencting to hear: I'm sorry!. The guy didn't even bother. I just told him straight that he didn't have no manners and went on with my buisness.

The worst part is my friend who was waiting behind me then heard the dude saying to his friends that I was a douche and all.

Some kids just diserve a good slap.
