I've just come from a circa 06 Burton Dominant, Regular Camber, to a 2012 Bataleon TBT Goliath and I've have had great fun on it so far!

First few runs were 'whoa this is different' but I soon got used to it.

I'm a newb in the park but I actually prefer the TBT as I find it a little more forgiving, probably at the expense of balls out speed stability though.

No idea what it would be like hucking something 40+ though....

Lonnie Kauk doesn't seem to have any problems launching 40 footers on his Lobster freestyle:
