Default Kid falls off ski lift

Teen Falls Off Of Chair Lift 45+ Feet - YouTube

Apparently he tried to throw a snowball at his friends on the chair in front of him and slipped. He held on for a good 6 minutes then he fell. this happened at a ski resort in santa fe, nm.

But he doesn't seem to be strapped in. Did he remove his ski/board? This incident had some play on tv stations in TX. Wonder if the kid is from TX? Glad he's going to make a complete recovery. Guess there's no telling...

TT no doubt has some sage advice for this matter.

Oh gods I hope you didn't just start another helmet war

I think not acting like an idiot in general is a good idea. But I am actually wondering now... I think I see safety bars on those lift chairs, but I'm not sure. Did it have a safety bar and they didn't even bother to put it down?

For such a stupid little thing, he got massively damaged, I'm glad he'll recover and will have probably learned something from the ordeal. But boy, what a bad way to learn a lesson!

Not many people use the safety bar, mainly because sitting down is not rocket science. Its the exact same thing as a couch. Kid learned the hard way - dont goof around on lifts, it hurts! Sadly a large portion of our society has to learn this way, we're getting dumber as time marches on.

^^^ This. I've saw a guy drunk enough he needed help to get his skis off, and he could ride the lift without an issue.

It sucks the kid got hurt, but I think he got lucky considering the circumstances.
