I'm lucky. My local rental shop is really cool. We're all good friends and there's a good vibe.

Yeah, I wish I could do that. I'm actually not good at anything other than snowboarding, but that's not gonna make me money. So I gotta get a real job.

And when I say job, I actually mean career. I want to get an internship out west near the mountains so after I graduate from IU I can just go ahead and move out there and go to a graduate school near the mountains. I got a triple major in Marketing/Psychology/Spanish and I'm gonna keep working on that. Maybe eventually I'll be able to open up my own shop (or even my own mountain??? ) but I gotta get out there first.

I contacted someone from Heavenly, and I have an interview set up with them up in Chitown here in a couple weeks, maybe if all goes well I'll be out on Tahoe this summer.

The thing is I already kind of know spanish since half my family is from colombia. It makes it kind of an easy major, especially since now I'm "Triple Major"

My husband works in the industry and has his entire life. (i also help him). It is a very casual "who you know" industry. I agree with PAY YOUR DUES..most guys thay get great job do so because of something else that they have done at another company.. or, cuz they worked thier way up.
Also, many of the them other than Burton and a few other HUGE ones. Run on sort of a skeleton business struture. So, one guy wears many hats..and does not alway hold a degree in all or any of the areas. You are more likely to get a marketing job because of how you know (i don't mean a buddy gets you a job.. i mean, that you can get into the right events and so on, because you have BUSINESS contacts). Like someone else said, i would start helping out at events (yup for free)maybe get a tech rep job. My husband has had a few of these. They are often rider from their team that want to get into the industry, they take them to on snow demos and events (we pay their hotel/food and you get a free lift pass).. all you have to do is change some binders in the demo tent..gopher a bit and ride..eveyone goes out at night..not a bad weekend gig. Some run demos on thier own (and get paid). Good place to start.

As for real jobs.. my husband has one.. and they are taking him to Italy to a snowboard trip next month. He has been ridin' all over the world.. mostly thanks to his job.. so the two can happen together. He works hard and plays even harder. Just have to stay away from the HUGE corporate monsters (YUP< AGAIN I MEAN BURTON..lol)
