I fondly remember the day I got my first Lib Tech over 10yrs ago, a Tear Yea. Sadly I barely got to ride it because one day my friend's little bro was the last one to load his board on the rack and...you know the rest. Undeterred, I've gone on to own at least a dozen Libs/Gnus since then. I also remember lusting after my homie's first-gen Gnu Altered Genetics after reading the description thinking, "WTF a snowboard company actually bred trees just to make this winter stick?" Then there were the countless confused faces when I tried to explain the new tech on my boards (stuff like BTX, MTX, etc...) when it was first introduced.

This article helped remind me why I've always supported this local company, back before buying local/American/environmental products was even on the radar let alone remotely cool. My point is, hopefully this interview with Mike Olson might help clear up some of the hater bandwagon bs that seems to be floating around and is annoying as fuck. My only regret is not having the funds to be able to keep more Libs/Gnus in my quiver, but as we all know they're expensive and rarely can you find the right board/size/graphic on any kind of deep discount. You'll understand why if you read the article which is a long-ish read, but worth some toilet time for sure.

Being fortunate to ride at one of merv's testing hills, it been interesting to see the interest, buzz and development of their concepts and the chair chatter when a proto test or new design comes out. I think merv has done a great job of listening and responding to riders. A couple years ago I'd stop by their tent at the hill and talk/complain to them about narrower boards and getting camber back...and what do ya know...narrower boards and c3 :yahoo:

I dont really see any hater bandwagon BS..youre probably referring to the thread discussing the top sheets. Mervin gets alot of props in that thread, it's just a discussion about the differences in manufacturing.

I'll read this article when I've got a ripe one and can sit down for a few
