I would say the feeling of being alone. No cell phone, no crowding, no distractions. It is just you, your board and the mountain. There is a respect to be had here; knowingly putting your life in your own hands, a potential for self-destruction, that your next drop could be your last. To actually keep that in mind AND STILL cross that line of life and potential death. I used to have a healthy fear of heights; now I will stand on the very edge of the building I operate and lean over the edge ( I often take site photographs for contractors that do not have the nerve to get that close to the edge of a skyscraper). I have turned down sex for pow day and would do so again regardless of pissing people off. I truly know that I want to die riding, and I have skinned by that demise many times. We ARE living THE LIFE. Are we not truly the most fortunate ones?
