Moved on from Tahoe Snowboard Mag, and I'm starting to help out with the Heckler guys.

Awesome guys, obviously with huge passions for skating, music, and snowboarding. We'll be launching a digital mag within the next few months, and then a print edition before the start of next season. Stoked on working with these guys due to the fact that they want to promote more "unique" events, like the Rattlesnake Rampage, no more of the spin-to-win bullshit contests. Also, the fact that they want to bring more exposure to the old pros who paved the way for everyone today like Kidwell, Roach, Farmer, etc which unfortunately the industry and a lot of younger riders don't know/care about, which is why they helped organize and put on the Legends event at Donner just a few weeks back that Bob was at.

We are planning to expand the contest series next year, so you guys in Mammoth, Colorado, the PNW, or Utah may see us next year.

Go like us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instabang betches.

On April 3rd, 2013, the Heckler Magazine crew threw a contest to celebrate what snowboarding is all about. Shredding with your friends, slamming beers, and having fun. We triple-corked some bottles of wine and left them at home with your girlfriend. The event was about speed and style, beers and babes. The Rattlesnake Rampage, the first ever all-switch boardercross event combined with a switch method contest, featured a 1k, combined winner-take-all format that had some of Lake Tahoe's best riders come out and shred for the title.

We were beyond stoked with the turnout for the inaugural event, and are excited to show everyone what snowboarding truly means to us.Our staff would like to thank ALL of the competitors, spectators, sponsors, and volunteers who made this event such a special day for snowboarding. We hope to see you all for next years Rattlesnake Rampage!

Good luck, the video sure brought back some good old school comp memories.

Glad to here that you'll be interviewing some of the old schoolers, I personally have some killer memories of riding and competing with some of them, the first time I met Farmer was at a cabin party where he walked in with his blue at a comp in Schweitzer Idaho, then there was the time when Mikey Ranquet (Chris Roachs and Mikey were both kicked out of Japan) almost choaked to death, at a pizza place on our way home from a comp in Oregon. Mike Olson and Peter Saari of LIB were always the mellow guys at comps , but still funny guys to be around. Some other names that come to mind of great potential stories would be Ranquet, Lynn and you can't forget Peter Line (funny S.O.B.) and good luck, I look forward to a magazine thats between the "spin to win" CRAP and the Frequency Snowboard Journal type publication.

Stoked to hear this! Hopefully you'll be happy with what we plan to put out in the near future. It really is a shame that these older riders don't get the name recognition that they deserve. They really paved the way for the next generation to come and it's a bummer that most of them are unknowns or have fallen on hard times. Terry Kidwell selling off his board collection to make ends meet, really???

I rode with Farmer a few years ago on an epic powder day at Northstar, definitely fanned out a bit. Dude charges so hard and so fast through trees too.

Not really sure what TSM is up to. Tawnya is moving to Socal in a few days and the marketing director left a month or two ago to pursue other opportunities. I'd love for TSM to stay active, it's great for the Tahoe area to get that kind of market exposure, especially with Tawnya's experience/network, but everything is kind of in limbo right now.

Heckler will be doing both a print mag and digital/online stuff this summer/next season.
