Most probably already know it does but I just got the September issue today and as always its a big let down. 40 full pages of ads, very little meaningful content spread accross 116 pages of crap (mostly photos) including cover.
What really perplexes me is who is the the stupid fucking retard frogfish editor of this rag who prints the editorial content in 6pt type, I know I am getting older but shit you need a fucking microscope to read this dribble. I honestly believe my daughters high school journalism class could put out a better product.
To their credit I did like the Forest Bailey interview and Story Time - Bryan Fox buried alive, but to devote a full page "The Board Bag Diaries" to a drunk douchebag who takes a shit in the middle of your condo when the rest of your content sucks shows me that "yes" journalism is dead.
I think I signed up for a three year subscription a few years back and cant wait for it to stop coming so I am not reminded of the wasted money I spent anymore.
Transworld has sucked for years. I get it still but only with the free subscription I get with whatever movie I buy every year. Kronicle and Frequency are the legit mags.
Some might say magazines are dead, but I still prefer something physical I cam thumb through and throw on my coffee table. Same with books, fuck these e-readers.
Magazines are not dead yet. Just drop into a Chapters and check the racks of mags.
It has been proven that the human experience takes pleasure in reading a mag or book, turning each page and then a sense of accomplishment when they finish reading and turn the final page.
POWDER is still one of the best "snow" mags out there. Great article this month on climate change and how there may only be 100 years left before the downhill snow industry is finished as we know it.

Transworld used to be THE snowboard mag, but they've definitely shit the bed the past couple of years. Steadily going down the drain, and you can see why.
Snowboarder and Snowboard Mag are much better options now.
As Grind Media just axed Skateboarder magazine I'm questioning if Transworld will make the cut in the long run.
What I find sad about all these mags isn't the ads or product placement. It's the fact I've literally read the same articles over and over again for the last 18 years. It's time to make some new content.
To those who responded to my comment and added in books - NO. The 2 are NOT comparable. The way info is presented in a mag is something that can simply be done better on a tablet or any other interwebby device. A book is a book no matter what u read it off of. On the other hand the tablet can link to a million other sites, provide video, etc. I probably have more books than most people, I'm a pretty avid reader, I've read several books on kindle app on my phone but I'm a literature freak I like my liberry.
I just won't pick up a mag when I can grab a tablet or go sit at the pc.
You may all like your magazines, but wake up, this form of media will and should die.
It's not just TW Snowboarding, all the mags that are still around are largely just ads and pics these days. Hell, many of the "articles" are thinly disguised ads in and of themselves.
same argument about vinyl records vs digital in djing.
no matter what, a physical copy, and something that comes in the post, is way sicker.
way more expensive, but much more enjoyable.
that said, i've recently stopped cutting my music to acetate dubplates, and play off of digital format.
I also got a free subscription for Transworld, from a video my wife bought me for xmas, and yes it does SUCK. I just got an issue two days ago and couldn't believe the number of rail photo's, the only thing I found entertaining was the story on Slasnak's part in TB2.
I can remember the first snowboard "magazines" I used to get weren't a magazine, it was a newpaper, I think it was called Snowboard, wish I still had them
I like to collect magazines. Its not really whats inside, altrough many times i find something that makes the magazine worth it but i like to collect them, and look back.
