Been indoor rock climbing in Calgary and Edmonton to strengthen up the core and all. Done some good serious hikes and the calfs and thighs are getting there!

Nothing can prep me for week one on the hills though. The brain is willing, but the body can't do it...

I've got a feeling I'll be on snow before Halloween again. Maybe I'll wear my old sportbike gear as a costume.

A basin set up the snow guns and there's snow in the future. Loveland is supposed to start snow making tomorrow.

Angry Snowboarder Because someone has to call it how they see it!

Washington is getting hit too, and it's cold as fuck here in Seattle the last few days. Seasons changed quick here!

Just swooped up a last year's Salomon man's board. Stoked!

So here's a random snowboard though:

Why have they not started using tungsten carbide edges? Wouldn't they stay sharp almost forever? They'd be a bitch to sharpen but you'd probably never need to...

My guess is 1 - it's too hard to work with and 2, only you would ride a board that stiff. Tunsgsten carbide is extremely stiff.
