LOL, awesome clip. I loved that guy towards the end who claimed to "have graduate work" to come to Alta, yet he's rollin' out in a POS 86 accord lmfao. Dickbags, some stereotypes exist for a reason. You know who's bankin' though, Taos! Oh and besides the fact MY tax dollars pay for that shit, Alta skiers = Eliteist politicians on 2 sticks

what if you took your splitty Kill?

Then you keep it split at the bottom and just wear ghey shit like a telemark skier.

Ride the lift 2 plank gaper style, assemble at top.

Stop most of the way down to break it apart....rinse and repeat....

It would be a pain in the ass but it would be cool to do and make a video of them being dicks, which would eventually happen.

If I got a free lift ticket maybe. They might stop you with snowboard boots. If you went full kook with a hardboot setup it might go on for longer. Pretty sure you would be targeted after one run though. It is legal to snowboard at Alta as long as you follow the rules. You just can't use the lifts.

Really though, and I keep harping on it, if you want to ride Alta quit going to Snowbird. Alta was going to allow snowboarding or close. Last minute deal with Snowbird allowed them to keep the ban. That is how much they hate us. If a large number of riders quit spending money at the 'bird and made it known why, they would quit that joint pass thing. It wouldn't be two seasons before Alta allowed snowboarding or would close. If they closed some other operator would snatch them up and allow snowboarding.

Of course you have to target Snowbird to get it done. It is a great mountain but there are other great mountains in Utah. A 10-20% drop in rider visits at Snowbird would probably do the trick.

I don't know if it's because anyone wants to go there that bad. It's on public land, they shouldn't be limiting access to a large part of population. Plus I think its about "sticking it to the man " attitude to all those skiers that think they're too good to share the slopes with snowboarders. It's an antiquated idea that needs to go.

Keystone was the last resort over here that started allowing snowboarding and there os still a bit of negative sentiment from the snowboarding community. I suspect history will not be kind to Alta's discriminatory practices.

I agree that Alta is an anachronism and full of reactionary old farts. Not going to discuss whether their policies are smart business or not.

But one correction: Alta is not restricting access to public lands. Anybody is allowed to ski/ride Alta, including snowboarders. They just do not let boarders use the lifts (which are not public...).
