EVO.com's Gigantic Sale

Hey guys,

As some of you may be aware of, EVO.com is having a huge sale in their outlet right now. I was going to buy a board and bindings, but I didn't pull the trigger. Well, now they've lowered the prices even more and it's tempting to.

Unfortunately, I'm a kid and my cash is limited. I do have the money, I'm just unwilling to take it out of my bank account. I prefer to put money into the account rather than take it out. My birthday's coming up so I'll have a couple extra bucks though.

EVO says the sale will only last until 10/21. What then? Will the prices go back up? What if I wait even more? I'm thinking this is the time to pull the trigger because I'm getting a great board and bindings for $320, but I don't like borrowing money from anyone (parents included).

What do you guys say?

Thanks for all your replies guys. I wasn't sure what the prices would be after the sale and it looks like I should probably pull the trigger if I can. I do have a job, its just that I get paid at the end of the month (read: after the sale ends). I will definitely have enough money for the gear, just not now.

To add another thing to this EVO had a 10/15/20% off sale for columbus day weekend. I thought, "Oh, I should buy my stuff now because the prices will go up after the sale." Well, the prices are lower now even after the discount. What are the odds of that happening again?

They'll go lower, especially it's product isn't moving. The problem is, stock isn't infinite. What you have your eye on may not be there if you try your luck waiting for an even better deal.
Yeah, I'm kinda concerned about that. Although I am looking at a Rossignol Templar Magtek. I mean, how many of you have heard of that board or would even consider it?

EDIT: Just realized evo has a "stock indicator," and there are 9+ in stock of the board I want, in all sizes. Looks like it's not gonna sell out. I can wait.

Case closed!

I would not worry. That sale is nothing special - most things have been cheaper on EVO previously or are available for same/less on other sites.

In general, prices for last seasons gear have pretty much bottomed out (actually have come up slightly from the summer low). You might be able to find the occasional great deal, but generally dealers will try to clear stuff at about the current price levels. Next big drop comes when this season's stuff starts to get discounted. Until then the only question is whether there is inventory left of anything particular that you want.

Similar pattern every year.

This sale is nothing special as everyone said. Wait till the sale again and then 20% off with a code.

I'm waiting for a pair of Salomon wide boots to go on sale with a more discount. I bought the same pair of boots at the end of last season for about the same price as the sale now. I'm waiting for a code then I'll jump on it.
