Hey-

I'm heading up towards Summit County due to the lack of powder down in the San Juans. I'll be arriving in the area next Tues (Nov 20)until Sunday.

I was hoping to hear from any of yall in that area that have seen the conditions up there. With the lack of base does it even matter which reesort I go to? I was thinking Copper due to cheap lodging in Frisco. Should I just go to the parks and work on my jumps? Breck? MJ? Can't decide!!!

Any first hand experience greatly appreciated.

Well to be honest with you, you won't find any powder here, and it doesn't look like it's supposed to snow anytime soon. Just go to Loveland. There isn't a resort around here that has much snow and it's crowded pretty much everywhere but Loveland. My friend has a copper pass and went a few days ago and he told me it pretty much sucked balls. Too many people, too much ice, not enough terrain open. What part of the San Juans are you from? I used to live in Pagosa, can't wait to come down there and hit Wolf Creek this March.

so where should I go to ride the park? i know the slopes are going to be crap everywhere, so I was planning on just riding the park primarily. Shit I would drive to WY or UT if they had snow...

As for what part of SWCO I live, I do not live there yet. I have been driving to Wolf Creek from Lubbock for the past three years in a row, with a total of 5 trips to WC last year.

I am moving to Bayfield in Jan. (Close to Durango b/w Pagosa. It puts me at like 60 miles from WC and close enough to Purgatory, Telluride, and what I'm really looking forward to trying: Silverton.

Let me know when you come down to WC, I fucking love that place.

Sarcasm intended on my post. There's more dirt than snow right now. I am sure it will change. Any good mountain biking right now would probably be in the South Platte mountains just outside of the Denver area.
