Default Where to ride this week in the East?

Hey all!

I live outside Philadelphia and have off Monday. A buddy and myself are talking about driving to either Vermont or New York for the day. I know it is a lot of driving but anything to ride...right? Anyway, Hunter Mountain came to mind as did Gore Mountain and Mount Snow. It appeard Gore and Mount Snow received about 13-14" this past week so we are thinking of skipping Hunter and going to better conditions even though it will be about a 5 hour drive. UGH.

Hunter may get freezing rain on Monday so we may pass.

Thoughts?

Rich

I'd say Gore or Mt snow. If you want to go a little further north you can hit Okemo, Stratton.

You think conditions would be similar at Gore and Snow? From pictures, Mt. Snow has way more open ans conditions look better.

do yourself a favor and skip the NY mountains for now. I've been up to both Mt. Snow and Stratton... I rode Stratton on Tuesday after it dumped on them Monday. realistically Mt. Snow and Stratton should be about the same amount of time for you to get to, and I think Stratton is the better mountain personally. I like Mt. Snow but it has a tendency to get slammed on the weekends and Stratton is just a better overall mountain with some real nice runs. Also has a Gondola to take you to the summit where snow doesn't have that.
