Default Anyone ever do Mt Tremblant in Canada???

I went last year for a free week trip. Probably going to do it again this winter. Its great because you can snowboard right up to your hotel. Plus the monster mountain it is. (compared to NJ)

Anyone else board there?

Went there two years ago when we had that shitty winter. Half the time I was there it was raining, and the other half it was so foggy you literally could not see more than 3 feet in front of you. Needless to say it was the worse snowboard trip I have ever had. I'm probably going to give it another chance this year though when the colleges in the GTA organize their anual trip there.

I was one of the people who help those trips. I am the one who gives out the lift tickets in the beginning and makes sure people check out when they leave. For that i get a free week trip which is great.

Well, that year was probably the worst winter for snow sports in 50 years in the East! Don't judge it on just that, nothing was good. When were you there? Spring break? That's about the only time of year when fog could be possible, usually it's cold....stupid cold, -40C before the windchill cold.

Last year saw near record snow (only 10 cm short of the all-time record)

Tremblant is a pretty good place. It's an Interwest resort so it looks (and costs) like Whistler. Lots of runs, good vertical, good nightlife, nice village (Interwest's standard Alpine village in a box, but pretty well done)

Jerzey do you go to Humber College? As far as I know it was two people in my college who organize it, Logan and the other guys name escapes me at them moment.

I definately don't base my opinions on that year, I've heard nothing but great things about Tremblant. It was just such a shock though because I had just got back from Whistler a couple months before(which was amazingly cheap because Intrawest hooked up anyone who had bought a seasons pass to Blue Mountain in order to make up for the crappy start to the season). I believe we headed down towards the end of January, but it could have been February.

Like I said though as long as I remember to get in my deposit for the trip this year on time I will definately be hitting it up again.

Well, it's the Laurentians, not the Rockies

Still, conditions are usually pretty consistent: cold with snow that compacts to standard Eastern ice. However, the ice generally forms from compaction, not freeze/thaw so you tend to get it on the lips of pitches, not sunny areas.

It can get pretty busy on weekends, so plan to take the gondola once and stay on the top half most of the day.

Nah i dont go to college. My friend grew up with the people who organize those trips so every year he goes to help out and hes been taking me.

I had a great time. Except that alcohol costs so much money. Thats the only thing that killed my wallet all week.
