Arrived at Heavenly...

Visiting from Maine and I'm here until the 1st of Jan. I know the snow isn't great, but anything is awesome at this point. If anyone wants to ride, maybe show me a thing or two about the mountain (only been here once), then I would greatly appreciate it.

Also looking for a way to get to Northstar and Kirkwood that's not by rental car. Anyone know of any shuttles/busses out of the Heavenly area? I'm all set up with an Epic pass and I want to use the shit out of it!

Nice! I am headed to that area in March, and with that in mind, I am trying to keep costs down here. Everything is paid/budgeted for, except having a rental car while we are here... Just 24 hours in one big enough for the whole family + gear was $200. That's essentially what I would spend on food in the Vail area in a week, so I can't let myself splurge.

Everyone is saying there is more snow and terrain open at Northstar though.

Out of all of those kirkwood is your best bet. Can be sketchy driving there if the weather is bad but has the best runs for sure.

Northstar has by far the best coverage and park set-up in Tahoe right now, both North and South lake.

Yes... getting there with no car seems to be difficult however.

A few seasons back it was just like $5 ride to Kirkwood, free coach to Sierra, and pay to Squaw, there was no other pay coaches that I know of to get to Northstar or Alpine Meadows, but I think they are pretty close, you could perhaps get the pay coach to Squaw (which takes you into the car park of course but its just off the main road, and try hitch ride to Northstar?, you would just need to make sure your back in time of course to get the coach back, which leaves after 4:00pm sometime.
Heavenly has some fun riding if you can rip it across the flats. I think a lot of people that don't like it at Heavenly don't ride fast and have had to skate or unbuckle and therefore have a bad view of it, just check the trail map for your next destination and nail it, most of it is great, just a few flats to watch out for.
Saying that Kirkwood normally gets the best of any snow falls, and you can get cheap pay coach right their on the South shore side, have you checked out their snow report/webcams?
