In a good way? I would think it would be good after that new snow.

Hey thanks egnigmatic I'll be out at bear riding by my self on tuesday 11/30 then im either going to be at Bear or Mt high on the 12/1. I checked out mt highs map and theyll have more runs and features open then bear and summit. However it seems like theyre just trying to beat bear to the punch by opening more runs with a low base. Im thinking after thanksgiving that shit will be all carved up to shit snow. Anyhow Im going to be in the area on both those days riding by my self. my GF is doing that 4 hour group lesson so ill be riding alone. anybody down to meet up either of those days? Ive never riden bear and im mostly new to jibbin so itd be nice to meet some ppl from the forum and learn a thing or 2. Hit me up with a PM if any of you guys can get out there. Ill be around

im pretty sure they will have almost the whole mountain open by then. once you ride bear you arent going to want to ride mt high

yeah, in a good way. although there was only 1 actual run open, the snow conditions were great, wasn't crowded, a fun jib or 2, all in all pretty fun.

i just moved to San Diego in August and am from Michigan so iam no stranger to boarding but am wondering what everyone suggest big bear or summit an/or whats good and bad about both... Also I am open to any other suggestions i dont know much about the area yet...

bear if you want a killer park, summit if you want a little longer runs, maybe a little less crowded, more carving and freeriding.

Try both. A lift ticket from either Bear or Summit allows you to ride both mountains. They have shuttles that can take you from one resort to the other.

nice thanks Ill deffinatly have to hit up both and check em out ... what about places to stay out that way? is there any decently cheap hotels that anyone knows of not too far away?

best western chateau is right next to bear. i'm not sure if northwoods is still around, that place was pretty cool. there's a few cheap motels that'll do the job fine.
