Best Tahoe resorts for extreme terrain/off-piste riding

Which Tahoe resorts are best for powder, cliffs, chutes, cornices, rock drops, and overall extreme off-piste terrain? I was planning to get a Sugarbowl season pass (I had a season pass there when I was racing a few years ago and loved it), but have seen that I can get a Kirkwood/Alpine/Homewood pass for the same price and have heard good things about Kirkwood. Which would you recommend? Powdery chutes, cliffs, and cornices are what I ride for, but when it's not a powder day it's a park day, so having a decent terrain park with a good jump line is important too. Oh, when the double whammy could get me into Sierra for powder days and Northstar for park! I really do appreciate your input, the last few seasons were really a wash for me (2009/2010 I had a season-ending injury in January and in 2010/2011 I just lived too far from the mountains to ride a lot). I just retrofitted my truck for snowcamping and will really be snow-bumming it this coming season after quitting my job and before going back to school, now I just need to decide on which pass to get!

I just pulled the trigger on the Tripl3 Threat Kirkwood/Alpine/Homewood pass on Pinchit for $249, it was too good of a deal to pass up. Now I just need new boots and I'm set!

I went to Squaw for two powder days late last season, some time in March or April I think. There were some nice runs off Granite Chief for sure, but honestly I just wasn't that impressed given the pricing of tickets and season passes and Granite Chief had a horrendous line...I still wonder if I just missed most of the other natural features somehow, or if the unusually heavy snow base buried most of them.

Man, I wish I was a college student to get in on that season pass deal.

In this context Kirkwood is the best game going in tahoe

I am a Vermonter living in California showing the locals how to keep it real!
