Tahoe PRAY FOR SNOW THREAD - Snowboarding Forum

Just got back from Tahoe, Kirkwood and Alpine Meadows more specifically, and it's looks GRIM.

Last year I went up same weekend after finals and it DUMPED.

If we all gather in this one thread maybe a collective mental state can change Mother Natures mind.. She really needs to put out already.

I know I feel bad for all the businesses and employees in the sierras, things aren't great here in Utah either but at least everyone is open with about a solid 30%-50% terrain.

Weather geeks are saying that overall pattern is looking to change for Utah and Tahoe sometime after January 8th , lets hope it changes in a REALLY big way!

Don't forget Colorado! Yeah, I am crossing my fingers that the storms start hitting frequently in January.

Of course Southern Colorado and New Mexico really don't have anything to complain about. I have been lucky to be able to get my fix from that region since it's just close enough for me to hit.

I'm pretty stressed about the season in Tahoe too. Last night, I tried on my snow gear because I had nothing else to do. Ideally, I would be icing some bruises right now.

Mostly manmade white down here in Mammoth too. Been doing my snow dance nightly but to no avail...

Do you think it's even worth it to go to Kirkwood in the first week of January, with the hardpacked manmade snow and limited lifts and all? I have tentative plans but am thinking that I should wait until the end of January to go. Carpet boarding and doing my snow dance at home right now.

I just hope its not like this in late march cause i'm planning a trip to tahoe then.

I would deffenetly wait till the end of January, just watch the weather and see how big of a turn the weather makes in the next couple weeks.

I'm very disappointed, of course there's no one to blame. But I've been checking the webcam for various resorts at Tahoe, and I see more rocks and dirt than white stuff...

Then I checked the 10day forecast on weather.com, now I'm even depressed...
