Just moved to Los Angeles... any snowboard clubs/trips/buses???

I just moved to the Los Angeles area (actually Long Beach). I moved solo and don't have any friends here that ride. I'm headed to Mammoth in February, but was wondering if anyone knows of any buses or snowboard/ski clubs that offer day bus trips to Mt. Baldy, Big Bear, or wherever (at this point, I just want to ride). I'm not sure if driving is wise in a small front wheel drive coupe (no all wheel drive, no chains etc.). I'm from the east coast/mid-west, and i'm not sure i'm quite prepared for a solo drive up there.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

dude, you are more than fine to drive up in ANY vehicle. Hell you could take a motorcycle up to Big Bear... Just check the weather prior to leaving, they don't get much snow at all - maybe 50-60" a year in the city - and maybe ~80" at the resorts?

I rode there for the first 19 years of my life before moving to utah
