Playing Hookie Tuesday!!! Mtn High or Summit???

I am playing hookie from work on Tuesday and am deciding between Mtn High and Summit. They are about equi-distant from me down here in SD.

What all do y'all think?

Went to Mtn High and had a blast. First time back on board after what is well over 10 years.

Any one up for the Mtn High 2 for Tuesday deal?

Looks like there could be some snow, Im not making the trek out to Big Bear cos I am leaving for mammoth on Saturday

Just want to get some turns in since Im not working and I'd like to find someone to do thr 2 for 1 deal they got going on (I guess I can troll the parking lot)

Also, isn't it Valentines day tomorrow? Come on and ride, fer gawds sake I am a girl it shouldn't be this hard to get a snowboarding date on V Day!

Maybe not being so shallow and only trying to hook up with a brother when you need a "deal", maybe it would be easier?

Women these days, only when they need something......

just joking, happy v day.

it's 2 for 1. I am more then willing to pay for my half and it WOULD BENEFIT THE OTHER PARTY. Do you even know what TWO FOR ONE MEANS? I actually wasn't going to even mention I was a chick, but I thought it was FUNNY cos it was V Day.

The last guy I dated i took to mammoth for the weekend paid for the whole trip. Yup. I sure only hung around him cos I wanted something.

Would you have responded so rudely if I did not mention my gender?

p.s I am probably twice your age. You wouldn't want to date me anyway!

Summit and Bear are like 10x better than mt. high. Mt. High is ok, they have a lot of features which is cool. But the runs are short. Super short. When east is open it's a little better, but not much. But they do have features so it's fun to hit those. It's about as close to a midwest hill that we have though.

Bear is more park oriented, Snow Summit has longer runs but also has a few features.

Snow Summit & Bear Mountain are way better than Mt. High from my experience. Mt. High is cool for a weekday with a discount discount ticket, but Summit & Bear are longer runs with more features. Summit has some great terrain, regardless of skill level and some legit park runs too.

If you do go to Mt. High, check out Ski for Free or Liftopia - Lift Tickets Online - Discount Ski Lift Tickets for some discount tickets. I believe the promo code for SkiForFree is "BOARD".

They also sell discount tickets for some other resorts in California. Liftopia is just discounted tickets to whatever resorts they currently have "tickets" to. With both of these, you'll buy online & bring the printout receipt to the ticket office for a lift ticket - no additional fees at the resort. Neither is a referral site, but if I remember correctly, both require you to be a "member" and create an account to purchase lift tickets.

Bear and Summit still suck. Bear is all park, unless Geronimo is open. I never seem to go when it is. Summit is FLAT!!!!!! Mtn High has a few redemming factors, the biggest (for me) is I can be there in under an hour. BB/SS is about 3

Mtn High is good for two things...park laps and keeping your chops up between mammoth trips Also, 99.8% of the people that go ONLY ride the park. I have had 2 "powder" days at High and still EVERYONE is crammed into the park and the bunny hill while East is empty. If you show them a season pass from any other Ca resort you can get a lift ticket for 25 bux.

I could have *almost* bought a season pass with all the 25 dolla lift tix I bought this year :-/

From San Diego the drive is similar, but Mt High is just plain small. They all suck compared to real resorts, sure. If you get bored of park, you can take the shuttle etc. etc. The thing about Mt. High is, as you say, it's a park, and a small one at that. They're better this year but the park SUCKED last year. It was terrible.
