Well I know were not even out of July yet but if you search El nino on Google News. You can find articles around the world suggesting a Moderate-Weak El Nino. Ive also read articles from carribean countrys suggesting concern that this season might be a repeat of 97. Temps in the the pacific waters are forecasted to be warmer then they have in recent years. Hope this all pans out for us out west as last season was horrible. Last time we had a good el nino in AZ we got a 10 ft+ dump over 3 days at Snowbowl and Sunrise.

Just check the Noaa update and its looking like SW/Cali is going to be Epic this winter. check the link for the outlook-Climate Prediction Center - Seasonal Color Maps This just made my day right here. soo pumped. Snow wolf I hope this means you will be coming out here to AZ again. If this all pans out id think Feb-March might be a epic time to hit Backside of Snowbowl. Im leaving AZ in 2 years and I wanna ride Freemont peaks before I move. Sounds like this might be the winter to do it.

WOW those chutes would be incredible! Im for sure in if you wanna hit the BC, I can borrow some BC gear from a friend. Last year sucked major at bowl man with all the low snow. I was prolly there about 10 times last season and I can recall 2 of those times seeing snow on heart prairie. The year they start blowing snow they dont have to, Go figure.

I hope it pans out (so long as it does not fuck us up here) I will hit you up this fall when I come down to hike Havasu. I stay with a buddy who lives by Arrowhead off of the 101 and always spend a couple days in Phoenix. We could grab a beer at Arizona Mills in Tempe....
Yeah man sounds like a plan, I actually live in tempe these days so Keep my email and let me know Mestrada55@gmail.com

Climatologists can "sort-of" predict ENSO by looking at ocean temperatures in a couple of spots out in the Pacific. Like meteorologists they are not always right, but there is a general pattern which indicates where the jet-stream is going to hang out. FYI you want the jet stream to be near you, it sends you precious gifts of Pow.

Damned us mid westerns deserve more snow than you guys. Tired of crap winters and riding all man made snow and ice. Moving is not an option either. Wish I could afford a trip but just not in the family budget

Well, hopefully I can get the same luck as last year. My frst time boarding I happened to be blessed with 2 feet of fresh powder. I went as often as I could find the time... And each time I was blessed with atleast 6"+... And apparently it was a horrible season here in SoCal

It's 30* this morning Coloradical, I wanted to make one of those homemade snow guns. I"m ReAlLy thinking of doing it. Would be awesome to wake up to snow in the back one of these nights.
This time of year temps and humidity would be perfect. Would melt fast but would be a blast off our little drop in jib set up in the back for a very early season warm up

UP, Michigan/Ontario here. Last season sucked so bad, nothing opened until January. I think the big problem is being too warm, it melted any good stuf we got.
