if your planning on entering any park terrain, yes it will be very beneficial to learn both ways. but if your planning on just freeriding and that is all then you wouldn't really need to hustle figuring out how to ride switch.

The more skills you have the better for your overall riding. Even in free riding there are situations where riding something out switch is helpfull. I would just start doing a little bit of switch riding each time you go out riding. On a gentle groomed run, swithc around and start making some switch turns. The more you do it the better you will get. Have fun with it and when you tired of it, just go back to your regular stance and ride some more, but keep doing it a little each time you ride.

Cool heel side slalom

I was out today riding at my local parc here in the city and inspired by surf movies was doing slalom S's while touching the powder.

I am Goffy footed and can pull a toe side curve yet when i heel side to complete an S i thrash into a 180 and end up riding switch that pisses me in reason that intialy i wanted after heelside to curve into toeside again yet it turns into a 180 and i end up switch with only one S done

What Can i do to help my case?

From what you are describing, I would guess that you are using too much force and possbly lean when you a heelside turning. Try leading your turn a bit by reducing the amount of pressure you are using to create the turn sooner. Are you carving into your turns by using torsional flex and slight weight shift, or are you rotating your upper body and pushing the rear foot around?

Okay good, that is the right way to be initiating your turns. So, next time you try this, once you reach the apex of your heelside turn, slightly lesson the heelside force you are using with the front foot and then let the baord start to go flat, then gradually increase toe pressure with the front foot to start the board turning back toward your toeside. The rear foot follows but only after a turn is established. Also, pay close attention to where your weaight is. The heavy end of the board wants to lead, so if in that heelside turn you get into the back seat, it will also tane to cause that flipping around thing.
