i figured it was total bull, but wondered if you guys saw it before.

same goes for my car. i let it go awhile, but when i finally wash/wax it (besides appearance improvement) I swear it accelerates through the air easier.

For the best ride and long life of your board you should definitely wax it very regularly. I generally was my board after every other day of riding. They have different waxes for different temp ranges. If you get the multi pack your covered. I use a regular Iron.

Hold the iron nose side down.
Hold reccommended temp wax on hot nose and drip all over the board.
Then work the wax smoothly over the whole board by constantly moving the iron..dont stop or u burn the base of the board.

The hard part is scraping..that will take at least 1/2 hour because you have to get ALL the wax off basically..there are cross grooves in the bases and the wax fills that much.

I cant stress enough the difference it makes...at the end of the season I flood the base with alot of wax and leave it on until the first time i ride of the new season..

I just emailed bluebird & asked where we can purchase the 3.1 lbs shop block of their soy wax. I'll let you know what I find out.

Damn straight! It probably helped her because on cross country skis you have to run uphill too! I can always tell if my board needs wax because it get squirrely and slow. I have learned from this website that you wax your board every time, I've been stoked on the results. Already got 10 days this year and I've waxed the board every time.
