Question Facing forward.

From everything i've read, they all reccommend that the shoulders align perfectly with the board and just turning your neck.

however, when i'm riding, i'm facing forward at least a little with my shoulders down the hill. How big of a problem is it and how do i fix it?

(It hasn't affected my ability to freeride but i feel it's holding me back little in freestyling maybe.)

it is preferrable to look from the neck up.

shoulder turn places torsional flex on your body and so it is more likely for your hips and therefore your legs to follow. to prevent this, the edge of your board needs to engage / bite the snow more heavily, thus reducing your potential speed, or affecting a very slight rotation when jumping.

it isn't a mega worry as you can compromise and adapt your riding to override this undesirable effect. but it is not 'good form'.

You should not be riding counter rotated except in situations where you employ this for deliberate control. What riding like this does is it puts rotational force on your board making it want to veer heelside. It will make you work harder to turn toeside and adversely affect your balance. Try to use your front shoulder to steer by pointing it where you want to. You will find that you do`nt fight your board so much.
