Default New to the forum and got a question

Just wanted to start a thread to say hi and introduce my self. I've been riding for about four years and I'm big into natural features, I can pull 3's some rails you know the norm. But my question is this the stance I've alway's ridden is -15 and 0 on my bindigs. And i'm starting to realize that this isn't very popular. Is it a bad stance? I hate riding switch but I can so I don't know what to think.... Thanks ahead

Stance is 100% a personal preference. You as the rider need to just tweak things to your liking. Having said that, ducking out your bindings to something like 15/-15 does make riding switch easier because your rear foot is now angled to accomodate switch riding. When changing these setting, do it a few degrees at a time and go ride for awhile to get used to it and to train your musscles to get used to it.

humm cool. I guess I'm gunna try the 15,-15 stance next time. Besides switch is there any other advantage to that stance?

It is centered. Think of doing a boardslide, you are going to want a balanced stance to keep things even.

I wouldn't do 15/-15 right off the bat, it's hard on the knees. Try out 12/-12, then progress to 15/-15

(1)Depending on your body, duck stance can help or hurt your knees. Some people find that duct puts too much stress on their knees. Others find duct is more anotomically correct way to stand. In theory, the latter is true. Try if your self. Stand with your feet pointing forward (i.e. a 0 stance), and bend down as deep as you can. Next, stand a but duct, and try to bend down as deep you as can. You'll see that you can go MUCH lower when standing like this. Hence, when riding duct, you are able to been through your knees in a much more natural manner. How does this help when riding? Well, I hope that answer is obvious enough. Also note that this has NOTHING to do with switch riding...that benefit is just ancillary.

(2) As already stated, do NOT go straight to 15/-15. It's kind of like lifting weights. You can start out with a 250lbs barbell. Start with a 15/-6, then goto -9, -12, etc. You'll need to get your muscles used to the new stance w/o freaking your body out too much.

did i read that right?

you have your front foot on 0 and the rear on -15?

that is more or less a backwards stance as far as i can tell.... i started out as a newb on something like 21 front and 0 back....

i would defo go for the 15s tho (but i would say that, coz that's what i prefer)

go with what works for you.... altho 0/-15 just seems wrong (to me)
