I have the same problem. What is happening is that I am not keeping my weight centered over my board. I tend to lean back over the heel edge a bit too much and usually the board slips out in front of me and I hit the box with my ass. When I think about it and try to compensate, I often overdo it and lean too far over the toe edge and then it goes out the other way and I land on my shins. On a rail or box, being centered over the top of your board is critical. Another thing that will mess you up is if you go on the rail crooked or at an angle. The board will pivot and you will slide off the rail. keep the shoulders aligned perfectly with the rail with the lead pointed at the end of the box/rail. This is for 50/50...a little bit different strategy is required for boardslides and I am not at that point yet.
