Here is an excellent article that goes into stance width and angles in depth.

Everything about snowboard stance

The biggest facts are really weight, boot size, and the type of riding your going to be doing. This site has a good explination of it; The Snowboard Buying Guide at CJU.com

That everything about snowboard stance page is a godsend. I discovered that page a year or two ago, and it's definitely amazing how much setting up your bindings correctly can improve your riding experience. That, and it's nice to see a page that recommends both stance angles for various styles of riding and widths based on your size.

Default pdf with

Hi all,
during my research how to perform different tricks; I stumbled up this pdf http://www.methodmag.com/fileadmin/m...gy_english.pdf
The reason why I putted it here is because:
-it contains a small intro about the history of snowboarding (and the vete with skieers
-basic terms (I finally know what a cab is!)
-and (most important thing!) explanation from the most basic snowboard tricks (p.e. ollie,FS180,360), to a little more advanced tricks like layback slash in a halfpipe, or a FS boardslide.

For some of you it is probably too easy, but I think it fits right into this basic-how-tos-thread

One of this site`s advertisers has some very good "getting started" information. I dont` normally post links to other sites, but it is one of our sponsors...

never mind, got it done.

though this thread has remained extremely helpful, and information learned will be kept in mind once the snow falls.
