360's

Im going to my local mountain this weekend and its time to to a 360. Im going to do it off a small jump in the medium sized park. I can do frontside 180's off side hits and backside 180's off of some side hits. Ive tried to 360 side hits but i end up coming short and landing a 270. I was wondering which spin would be easier, FS or BS?

Check to make sure you're not looking at your feet when you're spinning, and to spin from the hips, not the shoulders.

Neither - depending on which you learnt doing 180s first and got more comfortable with first, that's what's easier. Some people find FS easier, some find BS easier.

There are a lot of spinning threads in the last week or two already so I won't go into the 360 technique again, but scroll down in the tips/tricks forum and you'll find a bunch of recent threads on spinning, popping and rotation, which should help you get your 360s around properly.

If you can get video of yourself and post it here it helps a ton with us trying to work out what's going wrong in your spin - otherwise it could be any number of things causing you to come up short on your rotation.

I feel I have better pop and control on my heel edge so I'm working on my 3's "frontside" and I'm goofy not that that matters.

So go with the edge you feel most comfortable and stable with in your set-up turn with. If you do choose FS don't forget it's a blind landing. I'm sure you know that just a friendly reminder for those that may not.

Look for your landing. I've only just conquered the 3's. They're actually quite easy once you get them down pat.
