So I built a rail following the instructions on this forum: Build-A-Jib 101 Cult Forum. My wife and I (her almost 40, me just past 40) having been playing on it in the back yard.

Today I was finally controlling my balance on my boardslides. A few weeks ago I was at the park on the local hill and went backwards on my ass as I passed over a kink. I damn near broke my tail bone, but fortunately I just missed and suffered a major bruise instead. Now I have some padded shorts. This is also why my wife is wearing my hockey breezers! ;) I also understand how I need to readjust my balance over that kink if I ever try it again!

It's been a ton of fun - we have both skied since we were children and, although we dabbled in snowboarding over the years (my first time was on a Burton Performer circa 1985), this is the first year we have committed to it. We are really good tele skiers, but we both feel like snowboarding is giving us something playful and fun to learn. Switch, rails, 180s, hopefully 360s - lots of new things to try out.

I don't think I can embed video from dropbox, but here is one of my better runs.
