Default Need some advice

Hello guys, I am trying to get into one of the insturctor courses in Canada to get CASI level 1&2. Yet I don't have a solid grasp on the subject so I'd like to shoot some questions like
which place or company would you recommend me to take the course? (I am thinking those 11 week-long courses, quite expensive though :/ )
about how much money would a level 2 CASI instructor make a month?
would my 4 weeks of snowboarding experience be enough to give it a go?

1: Courses to get certified are a joke unless you're going for upper level. Don't waste your money.

2: You don't teach for money, you do it for the lift ticket. Unless you're teaching backcountry privately or working at a summer camp you make nothing. Since money is apparently a concern I would already tell you you should not get in to teaching at a resort.

3: 4 weeks???? Do you think a person teaching should only have 4 weeks experience in any subject? That's not even a full season. That being said while I would not want you to be my or anybody else's teacher with that limited experience I do know smaller hills that cater to familiess would probably be willing to hire you for beginner kids lessons if you can fake your riding well enough.

4: Don't even bother getting certified until you've started teaching. Most resorts will pay for your certs for you and I can assure you with only 4 weeks experience you will struggle to pass level 2 and waste a ton of money.

Wait, am I reading this correctly? You've been snowboarding for a month and you want to become an instructor? Maybe down the road, fine. But now? :signlol:

That's pretty destructive of you guys and I find it pretty funny. Well still, thanks for the heads up I now know that I have a long way huh.
Actually thinking to spend some full season on the mountains before I apply to any of the courses.
Man gotta find his way no matter what huh

Hey, dont get us wrong, we're pumped you found snowboarding and apparently like it wnough that you're alreaady trying to find ways to help others love it. But come on. Do you give guitar lessons right after learning Wonderwall? Or cooking lessons after your first Chicken Parm? No, you dont. You take more lessons to get better and then only AFTER youve mastered it do you consider teaching others.

I see your point, and it's totally valid. But here I was talking about a year or two years plan, hope I can achieve it that quick :/
So what would be the best way to improve my snowboarding as fast as possible without spending a fortune on those programmes?
Thanks =)
