Ok, so I finally manned up and tried some frontflips. 6pack of beer = balls

Now that I've tried it a couple of times it doesn't feel that scary anymore

I would never even consider trying this myself, as I don't have the skill set. So no experience here on ever trying them.
But, your legs look locked and stiff, maybe soften up and absorb the landing??? I agree about the leaning over the toe edge. Don't know if this is accurate or will even help but it's what I noticed.

Don't bend toe side at the waist and remember to look for the landing.
