Help - setback for powder?
I'm an advanced east coast rider, currently in Breckenridge - and there's lots of snow! Amazing!
So I'm not all that used to riding powder. I've got my 157 Never Summer Premiere (I'm 5'7" 155lbs if it matters.) The board has a built in 1.5" setback. Should I be setting it back further for tomorrow's powder? And if so how much? (Supposed to get another 12" in the next 24 hours, so they say.) I know there's no one answer to this. But just throw out some suggestions would be great. Thanks! (Sorry for the cross post, not sure which forum this is supposed to go in.) |

disagree. You're 155lbs a 157 is a big board for you, and it's rockered. Like I said in your other thread. I'm 200lb naked, ride a 158W Heritage and I have no problem with a 1-1.5" setback. That's poaching runs last week at Copper in knee to waist deep snow :)

I'm 5'9", 158#, and ride a 164cm Premier. I have the rear binding set all the way back.
More importantly, if you're not experienced riding deep powder, make sure to look far ahead and make your line choices well in advanced so you don't stop in a low spot or flat spot. Keep your momentum. Read the thread on digging out of deep pow. Know tree well safety. Have a great time! |
