360 on the Piste - Help

Hey, im having real trouble with 360 on the piste. I see alot of guys riding who are maybe not as good piste and offpiste riders as myself doing both frontside and backside 360 on the piste but i'm having real trouble with them and they make them look really easy. In the past when i've tried, i have attempted frontside 360 by sort of ollieing in the air and trying to spin but not rotating a full 360. I've also tried the same backside but to no avail. A guy once told me that its about which end of the board you spin off. I didn't fully undertand this but he said something about finding it easier to spin off the nose that the tail? He could spin 540 off the nose of his board on the piste flat and make it look pretty easy. Can anyone give me some advice about this - i'd be very greatful. All the best and thanks for reading.
