Dude I'm telling you epic good time. I just got into this last year and It's been just an awesome thing to learn. I've been teaching myself and I don't live in an area where it is constant wind ona regular basis so my progression is a little slow. But I knwo decent Kite control and I can do downwinders on the mountainboard. I haven't reallt figured out how to launch myself from in the water. But I'm working on it. I wish I coul;d go take a class but there really isn't anywhere close by that does lessons I think 4 hours is the closest. But I think if I'm gunna spend the moeny and drive I'll drive down to hadaras and go see the peoples at Real Kiteboarding school.

Hey snow do you know what the season for winds is up there in Oregon?
if you tell me summer, this could be the ice breaker for me to move to Oregon instead of Colorado.
I really wanted to get into kite Boarding instead of wake boarding, but the fucking winds in Florida end in start in October and end in may, so I am basically SOL.
I am grateful that I found the cable park to do wake boarding, I can go a get a 2 hour session for $23, I can't really afford a boat at this time of my life.

The wind in the Columbis Gorge is almost constant. Summertime sees afternoon winds ripping up the canyons. In the heat of the afternoon, it gets really strong. So yeah, summer sees awesome winds roaring up the gorge in the afternoon. I have to fight those winds rafting the Deschutes starting about 3:00 PM. It blows hard upriver as the atmosphere attempts to equalize temperature differences. Hood River is pretty much the windsurfing/kiteboarding capital. Additionally, the Washington and Oregon coast sees strong winds coming off the Pacific so there is a lot of activity along the coast in summer.

Dude $23 is still a pretty nice chunk of cash for only 2 hours sessions. But more power to ya man, If you find something you like run with it.

^^^^^^ ohh I agree with you 100% it's expensive, but it's better than renting a boat for two hours for $250 plus gas.
I think a full day of wake boarding in the park is $40 bucks.

Well If you can ride all day for $40 then it's not much worse than a lift ticket depending where you go. But how much time do you actually get on the water???

Actually you get a lot of time in the water, on my first and only time there. I went for the one hour one, I had to get to class so I couldn't do more. The first time they make you start on a knee board to get hang of it. There were no lines and about 20 of us total, in one hour I think I got like 8 times on the rope and thats calculating for the change of boards and the walking back after every time I fell .
I was actually surprised at how much time I actually got on the water for one hour. The two hour one is much better because you can take a few break and catch your breath back.

Today was a great day at the beach for Kite surfing. There must of been about 5 kites in the air and with winds blowing at a constant 25+mph it makes want to go ahead and buy a kite and gear. But the issue with florida is that the Darn winds are so unpredictable. For the next 10 days it looks like we are going to have solid winds blowing nice and strong.
