last Sunday I went to the park and it was actually the first day that I had a bad time. It was extremely busy and I busted ass pretty bad in a kicker and hurt my arm with the board(got some nice bruises to show for it). At the end of the day I decided to try riding without the fins, so I removed them to try it out.

The thing was like soap, the board is everywhere but were you want to be , you realy have to work your edges to turn the thing. It's sort of riding your snowboard with very very very dull edges. On the bright side I managed to ride switch for the first time .

Most of the extreme guys have either very small fins or non, but for me at the time being I need fins. Although some boards have nice size fins built into them.

So today I installed the fins again, but I moved them backward a little to see what happens. I would buy smaller fins but they are mad expensive, I am waiting to wear this ones out before making another investment.

yea i rode with fins last season. im dying to try it finless maybe itl handle more like my snowboard. ive got molded-in fins on my board so i should be ok without fins :P

Yeah some boards have really good designs as to the fins integrated into it, the problem with those boards is that if the fins wear down then the board is garbage, you got to buy a new one. But then again those damn fins cost about $100 and you still get the wear in the middle of the board.

yea thats a downside but that will take a few years of rough riding. i have a hyperlite premier 136. basically all hyperlite boards have moulded fins like that

Well I ride cable park, those kids trash a board in about 3 months. Of course it might take me about 8 years to trash mine , as most of my riding is light.

yah i dont have a cable park for miles. i have a boat and my local lake (irondequouit bay or lake ontario)

but if riding finless is that hard with the board slipping out from under you and all itl probably give you hella good balance for snowboarding hahah :P

for me it wasn't that enjoyable at all, as matter of fact i only did two laps and then I let go the rope. It's just to loose to get anything done, but then again I am sure some pros disagree with me.

It's cool to have another wakeboarder in the forum, I have been trying to get this forum started but its been kind of slow.

yea alot of pros go finless lol. but yea wakeboarding is an up and coming sport. its not nearly as popular as snowboarding mainly because of the fact that you need a boat. gas isnt too great these days either lol. well you got another wakeboarder lol, i hope this section of the forms kicks off too

well i have Obrian clutch, It has the molded fins so yesterday i decided to go finless and all i can say is OMG is great. It feels like a snowboard. I am also learning how to ride switch which is fun . My only problem is my =back leg hurts way to much by the time i make it past the 2nd lap


maybe my stance is wrong i just dont know
