New guy from Columbus Ohio

Hi,

My names Darren, and I've been away from the sport for way too long. I started back in 88 mainly on the bumps in SE Mich, right after the "decriminalized" it. My first board was a Burton Cruiser, then a Kemper Fantom 162 asym.

School, work, and a knee injury means I've been out of the loop for quite some time. With the help of this forum I really learned a lot about the new equipment. I'm a bigger guy (6'3" 250, and size 13-14 boot) but I think finding the right board for me was easier than I thought, thanks.

I just picked up a Lib Tech Skunk Ape 161 and Ride Delta MVMNT in purple snake. It came down to these and the 390's so I made one concession to style and I like them.

I hope to learn a lot more as I go. Glad to be back.

Welcome back to snowboarding! I basically took 5 years off during college and was surprised to see how much the sport & the tech had changed.

BTW, which bumps in SE michigan did you start on? That's my 'hood!

Mainly Alpine Valley, and Brighton.

I'm originally from around Toledo so those were close.

right on! I hit Pine Knob most often because I work about 10 miles south of PK off I-75. I'm usually good to hit Alpine 2-3x per winter, but I've never been to Brighton. Cheers!
