Shortski loving, internet learning, 1st time gear owner
Going on the yearly midweek shortski with friends for the 11th year in a row now. There are no mountains in Belgium but Austria is the place to be for ski + apres-ski but a long 900km drive away.
Started out with my friends being experienced skiers except me and another guy. So we read on the internet how to ride, rented snowboards, took the highest elevator on the mountain and fell a lot. I can conquer any terrain... the other guy is still falling a lot and doubting if he is goofy or regular.
Just bought a Burton Malolo 2010 (with a big discount). I've been renting for such a long time... could have owned 2 boards by now. I bought it to be able to follow/pass the skiers on the groomers and be ready for the powder (dreaming about going on a mountain tour with a guide). Really curious how it rides. Can't wait...
